Having finally managed to get hold of all 142 submissions (139 were objections) we have had the opportunity to compare the Council’s analysis, as initially reported to the Harbour Board Members in September and, more recently, reported on the Council’s website. Surprisingly (!) we don’t entirely agree with the Council’s view……
In the meantime we would love to hear what the advice from Transport Scotland to Ministers is – but we won’t be told! We wait for the Minister’s decision. At present there are still 136 outstanding objections and 43 objectors submitted further ‘written representations’ in September or October. We can only hope that Transport Scotland and Scottish Ministers will take objectors’ concerns rather more seriously than the Council have done, to date, and choose a step which might lead to successful collaborative work between the many stakeholders in Oban Harbour and Argyll & Bute Council!
