Argyll & Bute Council has failed to respond to recent submissions and have assured Jenni Minto (MSP) that the Draft proposed HRO has been subject of a large engagement process and that The Council has responded to all representations received…
This is clearly untrue and appears to be intended to mislead our elected representatives.
Transport Scotland have told us that only 3 of the 142 objections have been withdrawn – which rather suggests that ‘engagement’ was not successful – and that there were 43 further submissions in response to the Council’s September written representation. Not one of these submissions appears to have had an acknowledgement, let alone a ‘response’!
It’s quite clear that there is still widely felt and significant concern about the future. It is equally clear that the Council lacks either the will or the ability to negotiate, or even to listen to the community’s concerns. Please write to your elected representatives, both local and national, to urge them to intervene in any way they can. If nothing else we should, at least, be given the opportunity to explain our concerns to Council representatives and to hear what they are hoping to achieve.
